Tap dance is an exciting form of dance, characterized by using tap shoes as a percussive instrument. The goal in tap dancing is to produce clear, clean sounds, with various levels of volume and tone. Tappers will have a graduated warm-up to loosen their ankles and knees for proper execution of skills. The class will include “across the floor” progressions and center work to learn and perfect new skills involving syncopation, rhythm, dynamics, and varying sounds.
