Contemporary & Lyrical
Contemporary dance is a fusion of classical ballet and modern dance technique. This style utilizes both the strong and controlled legwork of ballet and the improvisation characteristic of modern dance. Unpredictable changes in rhythm, speed, and direction are often used, as well as contact-release, floor work, fall and recovery methods. To become a professional dancer in this style, one needs many years of classical ballet and modern dance training.
